Early Practice
These paintings mark the beginning of a continuous conversation with the landscape. Long before the practice had a name or a business behind it, I was already making oil paintings of the places that moved me. The mountain trails, open meadows, aspen groves, and high altitude light of Colorado. The subject matter has never really changed. What has changed is the depth of looking and the confidence to let a painting be exactly what it needs to be. Many of these works have already found their way into collectors’ homes. They are documented here as a foundation, an honest record of where this work began, and evidence of a practice that was already finding its voice.
