Small Hours
This collection started in the margins. When my son was young and painting time came in short windows, a nap, an early morning, the quiet after bedtime, I turned to gouache. Small sheets of paper, quick to set up, forgiving to work with. The constraint became a practice, and the practice became something I wanted to keep. These paintings are small in scale and accessible in price, made for collectors who want to live with original art without the commitment of a larger piece. They are also where I experiment most freely: with color, with mark-making, with what happens when I follow curiosity without a finished painting in mind. Consider them the most honest work in the studio.
